Virginia votes every year.

Yes Virginia, there’s an election every year, so it’s important to stay informed and involved.

Odd-numbered years (like 2025): You’ll vote in state and local elections. This includes governors, state government in Richmond, mayors, counties, and local ballot issues. These races often have great impact on your day-to-day life, but fly under the radar for many folks.
Even-numbered years (like 2024, 2026): These are for federal elections. You’ll vote for members of the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives.
Every four years, during an even-numbered year (like 2024 or 2028), you also vote for president.
